Lifetime Members Inducted

Cary Area EMS as a non profit organization has existed in the community since 1974. During our tenure there have been numerous members who have given decades of service to the organization. At the annual Cary Are EMS meeting, we were proud to add more of our own as Lifetime Members of Cary Area EMS.

Mike Prevatte also graced Cary with his presence in 2000. He quickly climbed the ranks and became a Division Chief. Mike helped develop our volunteers through the training department, which has consistently provided Cary with quality EMTs. He now works at the state level in the Office of EMS. Mostly because it’s that hard to leave EMS.

Larry West came to Cary in 2000 because he missed emergency response from his days in California. Larry has been either a medic, intermediate, EMT, or RN for longer than most of our staff has been alive. Just this past year, he finally retired from the ditch doctor lifestyle. But he still serves the community by remaining on the Board of Directors at Cary Area EMS.

Tom Maynard has served the citizens of Wake and surrounding counties through his dedication to EMS. He has been full time staff, a teacher, a leader and a friend for decades. Since 1985, he has been a mainstay at Cary, and we wouldn’t be the same without him.

Tammy Patton helped grow Cary EMS from a mostly volunteer staff to a robust group of providers that have become family. She continues her leadership with Wake County, in a training position that continues to guide us all.

We welcome our newest members to a lifetime of Cary EMS.
