We are looking for highly motivated and aggressive candidates who have a desire to work in a progressive EMS system. Cary Area EMS is part of the Wake County system which uses very aggressive protocols and state of the art equipment. We work 12-hour shifts with a combination of full-time employees, part-time employees, and volunteers. Cary Area EMS currently responds to over 16,000 emergency dispatches with 5 ALS ambulances.

A North Carolina certification must be obtained prior to employment. All candidates must obtain NC driver license within 90 days of employment. Any employment offers will be pending drug screening, background check and passing the Wake County EMS System Entry process and Physical Agility Test.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in different environmental conditions including extremes of temperature.
  • Ability to carry 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to wear a full-face mask and any other equipment as required by the Homeland Security Act.
